Dora Raymaker has a BFA in painting from Maine College of Art.
Her primary interests as a visual artist are using collage techniques with paint, exploring the relationship between materials used and ideas expressed, and visual art as an alchemical process of transmutation.
In her process she uses a combination of controlled techniques and random techniques (drips, splashes, etc.) to generate irresolvable visual complexity, which she then draws together into a whole by editing.
The subject matter of her work draws concepts from the science of complexity, technology, mythology, and cognative processes.
